HW #1 Setting up your Gmail Account
Set up a google docs account and learn how to share your documents. You will use your google documents account to write documents, spreadsheets, power point presentations and PDF’s. Due to the number of computer viruses, etc. this is the best way to get your documents to me. Documents that are submitted via Blackboard that do not open will receive a grade of zero or F.
Submit the assignment on or before the deadline in your course calendar.
Instructions
1. Create a Gmail account with a photo (THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT)
2. Send me an mail me at sowk300@gmail.com
3. In the body of your email include your name, course section, major AND answer the following questions.
Introduce yourself to the entire class. You should include what you are most excited about as you start this college year, where you are from, and describe how you plan to stay on track for this course. Please keep this introduction short, 1 to 2 paragraphs in length.
Please note! One of the most difficult skills for this course is managing your time.

I really enjoyed this assignment. It allowed me to express who I am as an individual to the instructor while allowing the professor to get a better understanding of who I am as a student. Moreover, the assignment was not hard at all. The directions provided in the text was simple and easy to follow. I enjoy using Gmail as a means of virtual mail and I'm glad that this class will allow me to expand my knowledge about Google and its applications.
ReplyDeleteFor others who are doing this assignment, be creative and honest. It's design for you to express your self! Let the professor know who who you are as an individual. Most importantly, make sure you follow the directions and have fun!
This assignment was a good introduction to the class. I liked that it was straight to the point and served it's purpose. It also made me think of a plan of action for the semester which is extremely helpful.

ReplyDeleteIts a lot I could say about this assignment. I would like to start off by suggesting that people who havent finished this assignment yet , not to overthink it. This assignment was very POINT BLANK PERIOD to me. It allowed me to tell people who didnt know anything about me the fundamentals. I can see off hand that this might be one of the easiest assignment so im very appreciative. I have faith and confidence that everyone taking this course this semester can achieve higher than a C and we should not settle , we should push ourselve.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed this assignment. It gave me the opportunity to introduce myself and express a few important aspects of my life. It was a direct, yet forced me to discuss my plans for the semester and goals to succeed.
ReplyDeleteThis assinment was alot easier than I expected. I've heard horror stories about Sowk 300 but if you keep up with the deadlines there is no way you can fall short. I realized that the grade you receive in this class is based off of your effort. I plan on putting my plan into action and excelling in this course.

ReplyDeleteI had a longer, more thought out comment but this site had an error and failed to post it. I got a 404 "url too long" error for no apparent reason. This is why I absolutely cannot stand online courses. What have I done to deserve this, Lord? Give me the strength!
ReplyDeleteAlso, do we have to submit this via blackboard too? Its not clear and it seems faster too just ask rather than check and make sure that I haven't missed anything in the syllabus, blackboard, facebook, textbook, or this site. I'd be nice if the assignments were explained clearly in one place.

Following written instructions is a big, big part of this course and the real world. I know and have seen that with a little effort students who make the effort will achieve the grade that they desire!

ReplyDeleteThis assignment was a great way to give a taste of what’s to come. It was also a great way to introduce ourselves to the instructor and fellow students. This class in general I think really makes us pay attention to details. This is something a lot of us fail to do including me at times. I think in the end we will all become better students as well as people.

What interested me about this assignment was that it allowed us to introduce ourselves and tell a little about ourselves.
